President Donald Trump just shut it down. It is really happening, even if liberal Democrats want to play games. He won’t let them distract America from the crucial choice coming in November.
“Thank you to the great people of The Villages,” Trump tweeted while sharing a video from a Florida retirement community. But he soon shut down the entire posted after an unexpected controversy.
In the video, which featured “dueling protests” and several Trump supporters, one man shouted “white power!” — something the president did not notice before sharing the video to over 82 million followers.
“President Trump is a big fan of The Villages,” said White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere. “He did not hear the one statement made on the video,” saying Trump noticed the “enthusiasm” instead.
The tweet was removed once the offensive content was discovered, of course, but not before presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden attempted to give his failing campaign a political boost.
“Today the President shared a video of people shouting ‘white power’ and said they were ‘great,'” tweeted Biden, before launching into a typical anti-Trump screed. But Americans know this was an honest mistake.
