President Trump is taking an unusual approach to the impending impeachment trial in the Senate. He is leaving it to Senate leadership to determine a course of action.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said, “I’ll do long or short. I’ve heard Mitch. I’ve heard Lindsey. I think they are very much on agreement on some concept. I’ll do whatever they want to do. It doesn’t matter.”
Trump is ready for whatever the Democrats have. The Democrats will no longer be able to hide behind the power they wielded in the House.
Republican leadership has made their views clear on the impeachment inquiry. They want real evidence and Democrats gave them none. They wanted a bipartisan investigation, and Democrats refused.
