President Donald Trump was just removed and the nation is in shock. Millions of people across the country can’t believe this happened — and now action could be taken to correct the error.
According to Breitbart News, the world’s most popular social media platform, Facebook, flagged and removed a pro-Trump political ad, tagging it with a claim that it contained “false information.”
The message also said the ad, which was created by America First Action PAC, was also “checked by independent fact-checkers.” Of course, we have no idea who these “fact-checkers” really are.
If Facebook is going to hand-select what it determines as “true” for paid advertising, one can only hope the company will give the same amount of scrutiny to Joe Biden’s ads — but this is not likely.
Social media companies like Facebook and Twitter have long touted themselves as open forums, but they have essentially become publishers and Attorney General William Barr has taken notice.
Barr said they are “acting much more like publishers because they’re censoring particular viewpoints and putting their own content in there to diminish the impact of various people’s views.”
