A coalition of leftist activists, including Antifa and Black Lives Matter, among others, have taken control of a section of downtown Seattle, Washington and declared it to be an “autonomous zone” no longer under the jurisdiction of Washington or the United States government.
Breitbart noted that President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News that aired on Thursday, announced that he wouldn’t abide by a portion of a major U.S. city being “occupied” and insisted, “If we have to go in, we’re going to go in.”
“If there were more toughness, you wouldn’t have the kind of devastation that you had in Minneapolis and in Seattle. I mean, let’s see what’s going on in Seattle. But I will tell you if they don’t straighten that situation out, we’re going to straighten it out,” Trump told Fox host Harris Faulkner.
“What I mean is very simple, we’re not going to let Seattle be occupied by anarchists. … If we have to go in, we’re going to go in,” the president added. “The governor’s either going to do it, let the governor do it, he’s got great National Guard troops, he’ll — he can do it. But one way or the other, it’s going to get done. These people are not going to occupy a major portion of a great city.”
Unfortunately, both Gov. Jay Inslee (D) and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) have seemingly sided with those in the “autonomous zone” and show no indications they will do anything to address the problem.
