President Donald Trump said Monday that he will deliver his nomination acceptance speech from either the White House or Gettysburg, and that a final decision will be made soon.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany didn’t reveal any more information about the location either, saying she “won’t get ahead of the president” on an announcement.
The convention has been extremely difficult to plan this year because of the coronavirus outbreak, and numerous changes continue even as the date of the convention nears.
A few hundred of the thousands of delegates will be in Charlotte, North Carolina to conduct formal business including nominating the president for a second term.
Similar scale-downs have happened with the Democrat Convention, scheduled to begin next week in Milwaukee.
