President Donald Trump spoke about the left’s “open war” on police at his rally Sunday night in Henderson, Nevada, specifically mentioning the two L.A. County police officers who were ambushed and shot on Saturday night.
“We send our love and our support to their families, and we pray to God for their recovery,” he said.
Trump accused Democrats and their nominee Joe Biden of failing to condemn the violence until recently and of calling violent riots “peaceful protests.”
“In the Republican Party, we know that police officers are not villains but heroes that risk their lives to keep us safe,” he said, adding that he thought people who murdered police officers should get the death penalty.
“Joe Biden opposes the death penalty even for these cop killers, predators that murder children. He opposes the death penalty for the Boston bomber,” he said.
