President Donald Trump visited Kenosha, Wisconsin on Tuesday to view the devastation left by riots that occurred after Jacob Blake was shot by police there.
The riots took place over about three nights until state officials allowed federal law enforcement to come in and help with the unrest. Since that happened, the town has been calmer.
Trump met with about six different business leaders whose businesses were looted or burned in the riots.
He pledged millions in federal funds to help police and help businesses rebuild.
Co-owner of a burned furniture store Scott Carpenter thanked Trump for visiting: “I just appreciate President Trump coming today; everybody here does. We’re so thankful that we got the federal troops in to help because once they got here, things did calm down quite a bit.”
