The Trump administration just issued a major warning to House Democrats, sending the party into a panic.
The House is preparing to vote on the “For The People” Act, an ethics and campaign finance reform package. The Trump administration warned that if the bill makes it to the President’s desk, it will most likely be vetoed.
According to Fox News, the reform package has been marketed as a way to “eliminate “culture of corruption in Washington” and to reduce the role of money in politics.”
However, the bill’s stipulations directly target President Trump, specifically requiring Presidents to release at least 10 years of tax returns. Democrats have been foaming at the mouth to get their hands on Trump’s tax returns as the hope of incriminating Trump fades.
The White House issued an extensive statement condemning the bill. In addition to the obvious attack on President Trump, the White House statement also claimed that the bill would increase voter fraud and encourage corruption within the Federal Election Commission.
The statement ultimately declared that “If H.R. 1 were presented to the President, his advisors would recommend he veto the bill.” The “For The People” Act could be President Trump’s first veto if the bill makes it through the House.
