President Donald Trump blasted Democrat Georgia runoff candidate Jon Ossoff Monday for getting a little too cozy with China.
“He is weak on China,” Trump said. “He promoted Chinese propaganda and then he failed to disclose his business ties to the Chinese Communist Party.”
Ossoff left a $5,000 payment from a state-owned Chinese company off initial disclosure forms during the primary, then amended the form but passed off the payment as minor and not indicative of any connection.
“The Democrats will surrender the entire U.S. manufacturing industry to China,” Trump said. “You notice they never criticize China, they never criticize.”
Nevertheless, Ossoff was declared the winner of his race against Sen. David Perdue on Wednesday, handing control of the Senate to Democrats.
