President Donald Trump just received great news from Pennsylvania. It is not over — as much as Democrats would like it to be. The mainstream media is already trying to downplay this victory.
“President Trump scored a victory in Pennsylvania, where a court ruled that a portion of mail-in ballots from voters who had failed to provide ID by Nov. 9 should not be counted,” reported the Washington Examiner.
“Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, a Democrat, issued guidance to county officials stating that the ID deadline” could be extended by three days, which she did not have the legal authority to do.
To put it bluntly, she broke Pennsylvania law and misinterpreted a state Supreme Court ruling “that gave a three-day extension to Nov. 12 for late-arriving ballots,” thinking she then had the right to extend the ID deadline.
Judge Mary Hannah Leavitt of Commonwealth Court ruled that Boockvar could not count the mail-in ballots that were ordered to be segregated — by Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, no less — and did not meet the ID deadline in the law.
While this likely won’t affect the outcome, seeing as the ballots hadn’t been counted yet, there is at least some optimism that the U.S. Supreme Court will act against the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s deadline extension — which was created out of thin air and contradicted state law.
