President Donald Trump just received some bad results. The White House is stunned, but everyone has to push through for the good of the nation. The president will stay strong and so will America.
“A new poll suggests that President Trump’s approval rating has slipped 6 percentage points over the past month amid the coronavirus pandemic health crisis,” reported Fox News this week. The poll was conducted by Gallup.
According to the scientific poll, which has a margin of error of 4 percentage points in either direction, Trump currently sits 43% approval — a drop of six points from since the previous poll taken in March.
Also, back in March, 60% of Americans approved of Trump’s response to the COVID-19 crisis. As time has gone on and economic harm started reaching more families and businesses, some despair may be setting in.
But it is also important to recognize that polls are a snapshot in time. The next few weeks are going to be crucial for Trump — they will be what Americans ultimately remember, specifically how he reopens the economy.
Trump has been a strong leader throughout this crisis and over the course of his first term. Now, all he has to do is continue leading by moving America out of and well beyond this crisis. He will get the job done.
