Trump-backed Georgia Senate candidate Hershel Walker won the Republican primary handily on Tuesday and will face Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) in November.
Besides Trump, Walker was also endorsed by other major Republicans like Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (KY).
The Senate is currently 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris as a tie-breaker if needed for the Democrats.
Republicans are hoping to flip at least one seat and regain the majority after losing it in two special elections in Georgia in 2021.
A majority in the Senate would stall Biden’s agenda and force him to moderate his appointed positions if he wants to see them confirmed.
