The same people who have been blathering on and on about “misinformation” by their political enemies on the right just proved they have no clue whatsoever about what misinformation actually is.
Twitter went out of the way to add a provably false description to a trending topic about Donald Trump Jr., even though several fact-checkers have said it was false.
“People are confused by Donald Trump Jr’s reference to Texas’ ‘Democratic governor,’ since the current governor, Greg Abbott, is a Republican,” the Twitter description read.
Except that Trump Jr. was referring to Democratic governors in general when he said the following: “The hypocrisy of those trying to cancel Ted Cruz who have been totally silent on their Democrat Governor’s incompetence is telling.”
Of course, nobody with any power in Congress right now cares about misinformation about Republicans. They mostly got elected because of it, and President Joe Biden got elected because of it, so why would they want to do anything to stop it?
