Accused sexual predator Harvey Weinstein has been hit with new charges in Los Angeles even as he appeared in court Monday for pretrial motions for his New York trial.
Weinstein was indicted on four new counts of rape and sexual assault against two women over a two-day period in 2013 on the same day that the 67-year-old former movie producer showed up to court in New York City using a walker after recent back surgery.
Jury selection for the New York trial starts on Tuesday in the wake of more than 75 total allegations by women that Weinstein assaulted or harassed them. Los Angeles is still considering eight more cases against him.
Weinstein has maintained that all of the sexual contact was consensual.
The judge in the New York case has agreed to let four witnesses with other allegations against Weinstein testify even though their cases are not being prosecuted currently.
