House Minority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) thinks that former FBI deputy director Peter Strzok should go to jail for his treatment of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.
Recent information released by the Justice Department suggests that Flynn was targeted by FBI agents not because he had any actual ties to Russia, but because they thought they could entrap him in a lie so they could prosecute him.
“The thing that sticks out the most is that the FBI was getting ready to close the case, and then Peter Strzok came in, and we all know his motivations,” Scalise said.
Scalise said that the FBI went after Flynn “even though the evidence didn’t show that they should move forward,” and that they broke the law in doing so.
“I want the attorney general to look into this and, frankly, people ought to go to jail, and he would be at the top of the list,” Scalise said of Strzok.
