Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s administration misled the people of Michigan in a big way. COVID-positive patients who were put in long-term care facilities were passing away, and the administration was failing to accurately report numbers.
“Whitmer’s administration undercounted coronavirus deaths inside the state’s long-term care facilities by approximately 30 percent,” Breitbart News reported.
“The report that is scheduled to be released to the public Monday may reignite criticism of the governor’s performance during the coronavirus pandemic,” according to Breitbart News.
Republican Steven Johnson, Michigan state representative, said Whitmer is “well known for her executive order to place COVID-positive patients into nursing homes.”
“And when we were looking into this to see just how deadly that policy was, the nursing home death numbers we received from the department weren’t including everything,” Johnson said.
Johnson added there are “some serious questions that have to be asked” about the undercounting and that “it does appear the people of Michigan were misled as to just how many nursing home deaths there were.”
“Seeing that it’s actually 30% higher is quite significant, we’re talking about thousands of lives that were not initially included in the department’s count,” Johnson said.
