A high-profile enemy of President Trump was arrested, tried in a Manhattan court, and sentenced to 40 years in prison. He won’t be aiding and abetting terrorists anymore.
Ali Kourani, 35, was found guilty of providing “material support” to the Islamic Jihad Organization (IJO) as a Hezbollah “sleeper agent” between 2002 and 2015, according to the New York Post.
Prosecutors successfully convinced the jury that “he fraudulently obtained citizenship in order to participate in IJO attack-planning missions,” yet Kourani expressed defiance during his sentencing.
He accused the United States of having “double standards” and tried to paint the trial as a witch-hunt. “I wonder what will be next?” he asked. “Dismembering dissidents in embassies?”
On the 2016 campaign trail, Trump promised that he would root out terrorists and their accomplices. For three years now, he has proven to be a president who means exactly what he says.
In addition to the federal government aggressively prosecuting those who provide support to terrorist organizations, Trump has overseen a military strategy that has decimated ISIS worldwide.
