President Donald Trump just ended it and the nation is in shock. Millions of Americans — and even people around the world — are talking about the president’s actions. And, as expected, the battles lines are being drawn.
“Hong Kong will now be treated the same as mainland China: no special privileges, no special economic treatment and no export of sensitive technologies,” said Trump while announcing a new executive order to hold the Chinese government accountable.
“Their freedom has been taken away; their rights have been taken away,” continued Trump. “And with it goes Hong Kong, in my opinion, because it will no longer be able to compete with free markets. A lot of people will be leaving Hong Kong.”

This stops the proverbial ‘gravy train’ and encourages Hong Kong politicians and businesses to confront the Chinese government over its breach of a long-standing accord meant to safeguard Hong Kong’s freedom. Unsurprisingly, of course, China responded furiously to the order.
“The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Wednesday threatened to impose retaliatory sanctions against American individuals and business entities, insisting that ‘Hong Kong affairs are purely China’s internal affairs and no foreign country has the right to interfere,'” reported Breitbart News.
