Just-released FBI notes show that the subsource behind the Christopher Steele dossier on President Donald Trump told the agency in January 2017 that the infamous “pee tape” was a rumor and could not be confirmed.
The timing of the notes showed that then-director James Comey likely knew of the revelation that the dossier was unsubstantiated when he told newly inaugurated Trump that he should not investigate the “pee tape” allegations.
Trump was disgusted by the allegations he hired prostitutes to urinate on a bed at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow that Obama had allegedly slept in. Comey had briefed him about the allegations in early in January and they were subsequently leaked to the media.
If Comey knew the “pee tape” allegations were false and didn’t tell Trump, it only adds considerable fuel to the fire that Comey was using the FBI and his position as director to actively try to bring Trump down.
If Comey and his associates at the FBI are not charged criminally for these actions, there is no justice in the world.
