After hearing that schools were considering teaching students material from the New York Times’ 1619 Project that views all of American history through the lens of slavery, President Donald Trump warned in a tweet that those schools would risk losing federal funding.
The 1619 Project is riddled with verified inaccuracies, most notably that the American Revolution was fought to preserve slavery rather than to become an independent nation.
Of course, the article series won a Pulitzer Prize anyway, because journalism and journalists are overwhelmingly Democrat and liberal.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) has introduced a bill to deny federal funding to schools that teach the material.
Washington, D.C. and Chicago have already begun to teach students the messaging from the project.
