The news just dropped about a criminal investigation and President Donald Trump is stunned. His top advisors at the White House can’t believe this could happen.
“Well, I certainly would support investigating the president of the United States,” said Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on MSNBC. “What he has done in the four years that he has served as president is simply unconscionable, I think criminal in some cases.”
Waters also said that Trump has “placed this country in danger” and “done everything possible to undermine our democracy. I don’t think that can be overlooked.”
She is certainly striking a different tone than Joe Biden, who claims he doesn’t want anything to do with long, drawn-out investigations. But we will see if he actually means that — should he become president, that is.
There is a reason why career politicians like Waters and the media have rushed to adopt the “president-elect” label for Biden. They know lawsuits are still pending and the Supreme Court may have to get involved.
If Waters gets her way, however, the country will be embroiled in years of more fake investigations — just like the Russia “collusion” probe and impeachment push. This cannot be allowed to happen.
