President Donald Trump just publicly confirmed the rumors. He spoke to reporters at the White House about his symptoms, and what he said has turned heads. People didn’t expect him to make this announcement.
As previously reported, Trump came into close contact with at least one aide who soon thereafter tested positive for COVID-19. But he revealed that he has had “zero symptoms” from the virus or the medication he’s taking.
“I’m taking the two, the zinc and the hydroxy, and all I can tell you is, so far I seem to be ok,” said Trump. He is currently taking anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine and hasn’t experienced any side effects.
The mainstream media has attacked Trump for even mentioning the drug as a potential way to treat COVID-19 — even though it has shown promise in some instances. But he has never said people shouldn’t consult their doctor first.
Ultimately, Trump said, “I want the people of this nation to feel good, I don’t want them being sick and there’s a very good chance that this has an impact, especially early on.”
In fact, a Democrat legislator from Michigan who contracted the virus credits Trump and the drug for saving her life. However, anyone experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact their doctor before taking medication.
