President Donald Trump just confirmed it and Democrats are furious. He is moving forward with a nominee to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and now we have even more information.
During an appearance on ‘Fox & Friends,’ Trump said that his choe for a new Supreme Court judge will be announced “on Friday or Saturday” of this week. He also noted that it is important to show respect for Ginsburg first.
Trump said that “we want to pay respect, it looks like we will have services on Thursday or Friday, as I understand it, and I think we should, with all due respect for Justice Ginsburg, wait for services to be over.”
But the narrative from Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media has already been that Trump is moving too quickly and therefore being ‘insensitive’ to Ginsburg’s memory. Will CNN and MSNBC play this clip as well? Don’t count on it.
Most Americans will find this compromise perfectly acceptable: Wait until after Ginsburg’s memorial service and then announce her potential replacement. And that is exactly what Trump is doing, much to Democrats’ chagrin.
They don’t want Trump to exercise his constitutional right to nominate a successor at all, but after nearly four years as president, he has shown the DC swamp exactly what he thinks about them. It is why he will be re-elected in November.
