President Donald Trump just called it quits. It is completely over now and liberal Democrats are absolutely furious. They never expected Trump to go this far, but he did it anyway. He will always act with the best interest of Americans in mind.
“On Monday, Trump announced the suspension of H-1B, H-4, H-2B, L-1, L-2, and J-1 visa programs to give job priority to the more than 40 million Americans who are unemployed or underemployed,” reported Breitbart News. The president has put America first once again.
In fact, according to Breibart, an earlier draft of Trump’s executive order “exempted a huge flow of cheap foreign au pairs who arrive every year to the United States on J-1 visas.” Recipients of this particular visa typically come to work “for the children of wealthy households.”
But this all changed at the last minute. The final version of Trump’s order added the J-1 program to the list of suspended programs, and au pairs weren’t the only J-1 recipients impacted. Interns, trainees, teachers, camp counselors, and summer workers were also included.
There are likely some wealthy Americans who aren’t too pleased by the president’s move, but it had to be done in order to get our priorities in order. Any and all available jobs should — as much as possible — be made available to citizens first. It is just common sense.
The economy is already coming back and barriers should be removed that could prevent it from reaching productive capacity. Democrats can whine all they want, but suspending or limiting certain visa programs until the United States has overcome the COVID-19 crisis is the right thing to do.
