Law enforcement intercepted a package addressed to the White House laced with Ricin earlier this week. The package was intended to reach President Trump.
To prevent any assassination attempts by poison, a facility outside the White House screens all incoming packages. This latest event shows why such precautions are so important to protect the president.
According to an official from the administration, the letter is believed to have been mailed from Canada. This marks the second attempt on the President’s life using Ricin as another package was intercepted back in 2018.
The FBI issued a statement saying, “The F.B.I. and our U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service partners are investigating a suspicious letter received at a U.S. government mail facility. At this time, there is no known threat to public safety.”
While the investigation is in its early stages, it turns out that other letters laced with Ricin were mailed to a Sheriff’s department in Texas. It’s believed all those letters are from the same Canadian individual.
As the election draws closer, President Trump will have to take even more precautions to ensure his safety. With the left calling for war, it is time for Republicans and President Trump to play it safe.
