An anti-Trump political action committee headed by the husband of White House Counsel Kellyanne Conway has begun to run new ads reminding senators of their “sworn oaths” as the impeachment trial begins.
George Conway’s Lincoln Project is running the ads in an attempt to sway Republicans to vote to convict and remove President Donald Trump, even though more than 90% of voting Republicans have indicated support for Trump in the impeachment fight.
The ads also accuse Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of working too closely with Trump on impeachment, rather than being impartial as his oath demands.
McConnell has been open about impeachment being a political process, which is more than I can say for Conway.
The phony patriotism Conway claims in opposing Trump is really something to see.
