A high-profile Republican is gone, but this time President Trump is smiling. The anti-Trump faction of the GOP needs to be called out and criticized for refusing to work with our president.
Former Congressman Joe Walsh of Illinois has reportedly lost his radio show — which aired nationwide — after announcing that he would challenge Trump for the 2020 Republican nomination.
Walsh broke the news on CNN. He said, “I just found out that I lost my national radio show, so that’s gone. But I figured that might happen.” CNN host John Berman then teed up a question so Walsh could victimize himself.
Berman asked, “Why?” Walsh responded that he wasn’t sure why, however, he still made sure to note, “I’m running for president. I oppose this president. Most of my listeners support the president.”
Given Walsh’s own admission, it is difficult to determine the voting block he is actually trying to court. The latest Gallup poll shows that Trump enjoys an 88% approval rating from Republicans.
Chances are, he is hoping that Democrats cross over into the GOP primary and vote for him out of spite for Trump. But we all know that such a strategy has never worked. His time in the spotlight will be brief.
