A top newsman is stepping down from his powerful position. He is calling it quits before the end of the year and people are stunned. This could be a major blow to the mainstream media.
“NBC News Chairman Andy Lack will leave his post by the end of the month as part of a corporation-wide shake-up,” reported Breitbart News. Lack stepping down is “part of a corporation-wide shake-up.”
Jeff Shell, NBCUniversal’s CEO, said in a memo that the company’s news organizations will be consolidated into a single entity and run by “a well-respected, strategic leader who has succeeded in multiple roles at NBCUniversal.”
That person, according to Shell, is NBCUniversal International Group chairman Cesar Conde. As for Lack, he will reportedly step down after the 2020 election, and many are wondering now if there’s more to it.
Back in 2018, The New York Times alleged that NBC News “covered up a rape accusation against now-convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein by refusing to greenlight a Ronan Farrow expose,” reported Breitbart.
In addition to articles on Weinstein, Farrow went on to write Catch & Kill: Lies, Spies, and a Conspiracy to Protect Predators, which highlights the years-long struggle to expose Weinstein’s misdeeds.
