Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has tested positive for Covid-19 despite being fully vaccinated and boosted.
The 74-year-old Utah Senator confirmed he had tested positive on Friday while his wife, Ann Romney, has tested negative.
Senator Romney issued a statement saying, “Senator Romney tested positive today for COVID-19. He is currently asymptomatic and will be isolating and working remotely for the recommended period of time. Mrs. Romney has tested negative. Both Senator and Mrs. Romney have been fully vaccinated and boosted against the virus.”
Senator Romney is the latest high-profile politician to test positive for coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated.
Figures like Senator Romney testing positive have further proven that vaccination is irrelevant to stopping the spread of the coronavirus.
So far, Senator Romney has been asymptomatic and will likely face no severe issues. However, this positive test will have significant implications when Democrats argue that it is Americans’ civic duty to get vaccinated.
