Democrat mayors who moved to defund police after protests against law enforcement last summer hired private security for themselves, a new report details.
Forbes pointed out that of 25 mayors who adopted policies that would defund police, 20 of them “enjoy the personal protection of a dedicated police security detail.”
Furthermore, the outlet noted, the combination of defunding police and using taxpayer money for a private security detail only occurred in Democrat-run cities, including Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, San Diego, San Francisco, and New York City.
Some city council members also voted to defund police while having a security detail for themselves, Breitbart pointed out while covering the story.
Democrat Los Angeles City Council President Nury Martinez advocated cutting police funding in the Summer of 2020, at the same time she had a private LAPD police unit stationed outside her home, for example.
