Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) criticized proposed new House rules on Monday’s Tucker Carlson show, saying they did “the very opposite” of empowering women.
It’s the “height of hypocrisy for people who claim to be the champions of rights for women to deny the very biological existence of women,” she pointed out.
Speaking about Title IX, she added, “[T]here are people who are trying to undermine the very reason why Title IX was put in place by denying my existence, denying the existence of biological women. It’s — it defies common sense. It defies basic, established science.”
Of course, none of it is really about empowering women or making things fair and equal for everyone. It’s about claiming that you are right and other people are wrong.
And make no mistake, above all else it’s about gaining and keeping political power. These rules are meant to anger Republicans and weaken their power in the House. It’s really not about women or gender neutrality at all.
