A high-level Democrat just broke ranks with his party. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and other Senate liberals are in a full-blown panic now.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) declared on Fox News this week that Iranian General Qasem Soleimani should have been “taken out in some fashion many, many years ago.”
Of course, this is exactly the opposite of what most Democrats are saying — they are accusing President Trump of war crimes and escalating the possibility of a large confrontation.
But Manchin isn’t buying his own party’s nonsense. He noted how Soleimani “has raised war against Americans and American troops” and has been “a bad actor for a long time.”
One could argue that Manchin is simply trying to prevent his defeat next November, given President Trump’s popularity in West Virginia, but this isn’t the first time Manchin has supported Trump.
He would be wise to switch parties before the Democratic Party gets destroyed at the ballot box — otherwise, a Republican will rightly and decisively beat him 10 months from now.
