President Joe Biden’s latest attempt to move his vaccine mandate forward was denied by the appeals court on Friday when it denied the administrations’s request to lift the stay on its vaccine mandate.
The court also denied an attempt to transfer the case to the Washington, D.C. area’s Fifth Circuit court.
Biden had to put the mandate on hold last month because of the stay, which was upheld by at least two other courts.
It really doesn’t seem like the mandate is going to hold up to legal scrutiny, at least not the part that involves the federal government telling private businesses what they have to mandate.
Some businesses are counting on the mandate to give them an excuse to make their workers get vaccinated, but it’s going to be a moot point anyway if omicron takes over as the dominant variant and is as mild as they say it is.
