Churches were just handed a stunning reversal by a court. President Donald Trump and millions of Americans across the nation are shocked — no one expected this to happen.
In the liberal state of Calfornia, no less, Superior Court Judge James Chalfant denied the request by Los Angeles County “for a temporary restraining order to block” Grace Community Church from holding services.
The Thomas More Society represented Grace Community in the lawsuit, which “was filed against Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Xavier Becerra, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti,” among others, reported Breitbart News.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) flagrantly infringed upon the First Amendment by banning churches from indoor services, and the church’s pastor, John MacArthur, decided that it was time to take a stand.
Judge Chalfant’s decision means that Grace Community may continue to hold services on their campus. Reverend Franklin Graham took to social media to praise the ruling as a crucial step forward.
“It’s an important win for freedom of worship and for our Constitutional right to assemble and worship,” said Graham. “I’m thankful for Pastor John MacArthur’s stand against the progressive leftist bullies in his state.”
