The Sixth Circuit appeals court on Thursday kept in place an injunction on President Joe Biden’s federal COVID vaccine mandate on federal contractors, declining a request by the administration to lift the injunction on Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee.
The injunction has been in place since November and prevents the enforcement of the mandate in the three states until the case is resolved.
The lawsuit from the states claims the mandate is unlawful and unconstitutional.
“This ensures, while the case continues to proceed, that federal contractors in Kentucky aren’t subject to the Biden Administration’s unlawful mandate,” Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron (R) said about the ruling.
The Supreme Court heard arguments on two other injunctions to Biden’s vaccine mandates Friday, but has not yet issued a ruling on them.
