Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a call to action during a gathering of conservatives in north Des Moines on Friday, warning them that their beliefs were under attack from Democrats.
Pompeo said during a speech and question-and-answer session, “There is an assault on the ideas you all got up to come work hard for — and the candidates you all are working hard for.”
Pompeo has become increasingly outspoken about the political situation since former President Trump left office in January. Some are speculating that Pompeo is eyeing a potential presidential run in 2024.
Pompeo continued saying, “It’s your values that they just don’t like. They don’t like that you practice your faith. We said this beautiful prayer this morning, we pledged allegiance to our flag — we’re in a whiskey joint. This is America and they have a fundamentally different conception of it.”
Pompeo is saying what many Republicans are afraid to say. The political divide has grown so wide that there is no breaching for it, and conservatives must fight as the progressive left has been for decades.
Former President Trump showed Republicans that having a backbone and taking the fight to the left will work. Now Republicans must follow in Trump’s footsteps as the 2022 midterm elections draw closer.
