They were just shot. Democrats are completely stunned — they never expected this to happen, but their policies are partly to blame. This is tragic.
“A gunman in an alley opened fire and wounded two Chicago police officers Sunday morning before being shot himself,” reported Breitbart News. The violent incident “occurred just after 7 a.m. in an alley.”
“The two officers arrived at the alley in response to a ‘shots fired’ report and once there, a man allegedly turned, raised a gun, and began shooting at them,” the report continued.
Thankfully, one of the officers was able to respond and the suspect was wounded when the officer returned fire. We are all grateful for our brave men and women in blue.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), however, has got to face reality: her soft-on-crime policies have turned a once-great city into a place that no one wants to live and people are even fleeing from it.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) is facing the same problem. Leadership in both cities has failed, making the noble job of a police officer even more difficult. Something has to change.
