Federal law enforcement officials have just arrested an alleged Al-Qaeda terrorist leader in Arizona on murder charges filed by the Iraqi government.
Ali Yousif Ahmed Al-Nouri is wanted for two murder charges in 2006.
Ahmed not only was wanted for murder, but he also was a leader in a terrorist group. “According to the information provided by the Government of Iraq in support of its extradition request, Ahmed served as the leader of a group of Al-Qaeda terrorists in Al-Fallujah, Iraq, which planned operations targeting Iraqi police.”
With Ahmed in custody, there are several questions. Firstly it is unknown whether Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will extradite Ahmed to Iraq.
The other unknown is how Ahmed made it into the United States in the first place. A terrorist leader and murderer should never have made it into the states.
How many other dangerous individuals have made it into the states? While it is good that Ahmed is off the street, there are simply too many questions that need answers.
