The last step in Donald Trump’s plan to get America a vaccine for the coronavirus is putting it in the hands of the states to administer. And Texas is in the lead.
The Lone Star State has already given over a million vaccinations–the first state to hit that milestone.
In a recent press release Gov. Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) announced the state was in “the top 20 states for doses distributed, [but] Texas ranks number one for percentage of doses administered.”
“Texas is leading the way for our nation once again,” said Gov. Abbott. “This is the biggest vaccination effort we have ever undertaken, and it would not be possible without the dedication and tireless efforts of our healthcare workers.”
“We still have a long road ahead of us, but Texans continue to prove that we are up to this challenge,” he said.
