Endo Pharmaceuticals, Inc. has reached a settlement with the state of Texas that will see the Pharmaceutical giant pay Texas $63 million in response to a lawsuit related to the opioid epidemic.
The settlement is a significant victory for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who has made a name for himself by going after large corporations and the Democrat Party.
Texas has gone to war with Big Pharma, and the result is the $26 billion Global Prescription Opioid Litigation Settlement Agreement.
Endo Pharmaceuticals will pay their $63 million into the agreement, which will, in turn, be used to fund a host of programs to help victims of the opioid epidemic.
Attorney General Paxton issued a statement following the victory saying, “This settlement is the result of my office aggressively working to hold opioid manufacturers accountable for their deceptive marketing of highly-addictive pain pills, which spurred an epidemic and left victims and families with unimaginable consequences. This settlement is a necessary step in the right direction, and we will continue to fight to heal our state from this devastating crisis.”
This new settlement is great news for Americans seeking justice for the abuses committed by massive pharmaceutical companies.
