Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) led a Senate hearing Tuesday that looked at the role of Antifa in the violent protests that have taken place around the country.
Journalist Andy Ngo testified at the hearing that he was severely beaten last year by Antifa protesters and had to be hospitalized.
George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley testified that the group was creating an atmosphere that stifled free speech on college campuses and that many of his colleagues were afraid to speak out against the group.
Sen. Maizie Hrono (D-HI) argued that Cruz was ignoring reports that white supremacy groups were similarly violent, but when Cruz denounced white supremacy, Hrono refused to denounce Antifa and walked out of the hearing.
The hearing was important and Cruz is to be applauded for having it. The left was successfully called out for not being willing to condemn violence committed by Antifa.
