The Supreme Court just struck down a tyrannical law. One of President Donald Trump’s major enemies is stunned — she can’t believe this happened with less than 30 days until the November election.
Railing against the Michigan Supreme Court, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) said that her emergency orders — which “saved thousands of lives” — were struck down by “a slim majority Republican vote.”
This is sour grapes on Whitmer’s part, of course, Her emergency orders to allegedly combat the COVID-19 virus were tyrannical, impossible to consistently enforce, and completely illegal according to Michigan law.
“The court ruled 4-3 that Whitmer’s decision to declare a state of emergency without approval from state legislators was unconstitutional, citing the 1976 Emergency Management Act,” reported Fox News.
Whitmer, being a Democrat, doesn’t respect the separation of powers in government and therefore thinks she can rule like a monarch without any checks and balances. Thankfully, the Michigan Supreme Court disagreed.
It is a major win for the rule of the law. If Whitmer wants to reinstate any of her orders, she will now need to be through the proper channel: the Michigan legislature. She cannot declare a state of emergency without end.
