BREAKING: Supreme Court Reversal – Ruling Stuns Nation

The U.S. Supreme Court just stunned the nation with a major reversal. Millions of Americans across the country are shocked — including the White House. This decision will have an impact for many years to come.

Reversing a lower court, the Supreme Court ruled “that the federal government must pay out $12 billion to insurers who had enrolled in the Affordable Care Act’s ‘risk corridor’ program,” reported Fox News.

The lower court ruling previously “left Washington off the hook,” however, eight out of nine Supreme Court justices saw the obligation differently based upon the law and overturned the original decision.

Most conservatives and liberals on the bench signed off on Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s opinion, in which she said that that the ACA “established a money-mandating obligation” and that “Congress did not repeal this obligation.”

But the lone dissenter, Justice Samuel Alito, saw it a different way. He usually votes with the other conservative members of the bench, but his opinion represented a rare split from his ideological colleagues.

Alito wrote that as a result of the court’s action, allowing insurance companies to sue for payment, “a private right of action” was inferred “providing a massive bailout for insurance companies that took a calculated risk and lost.”
