In 2013, now-28-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and his brother set off bombs at the finish line of the Boston Marathon, killing three people.
More than 260 were wounded, and one of the fatalities was an 8-year-old boy. Needless to say, Dzhokhar is a special kind of evil.
So evil, in fact, the Supreme Court is considering whether to reinstate his death sentence. Dzhokhar had previously been assigned the death penalty before having it overturned in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
After the explosions, Dzhokhar and his brother fled. The pair then killed a police officer before Dzhokhar’s brother died in a shootout.
The two brothers were radicalized Islamic extremists.
