The Supreme Court just made an absolutely stunning move. It is not over and Democrats are terrified. They don’t want this case going forward.
“The U.S. Supreme Court began hearing oral arguments Tuesday morning in a high-level free speech case involving a Christian student who was barred from sharing his faith on his college campus,” reported Breitbart News.
“A convert to Christianity, Chike Uzuegbunam was peacefully sharing the gospel with fellow students on Georgia Gwinnett College campus in 2016 when campus police stopped him” and referred him to campus “speech zones.”
Georgia Gwinnett is a public college and, therefore, the argument is that the institution is constitutionally required to have rigorous free-speech protections, yet Uzuegbunam was told to “reserve” a speech zone instead.
The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), a First Amendment legal group, is defending Uzuegbunam’s constitutional rights before our nation’s highest court; ADF has a history of success on these cases and expects to win.
“The Court needs to make it clear that colleges cannot violate a student’s rights, then simply amend their unconstitutional policies after getting sued to avoid the consequences,” said ADF in a published article on the case.
