The current Supreme Court term is winding down, and there have been some huge cases decided on topics like abortion and religious liberty, and one yet to be decided on immigration.
Earlier in the week, the court ruled that religious schools could not be excluded from voucher programs, in Carson v. Makin.
Friday, the court ruled that Roe V. Wade and Planned Parenthood V. Casey should never have been precedents for a federal right to abortion, sending laws regarding that medical procedure back to the states.
By the end of next week, the court is expected to rule on Biden V. Texas, which would determine whether Biden can end former President Donald Trump’s Remain In Mexico policy requiring illegal immigrants to stay in Mexico while waiting for their asylum hearings.
It is a big year for the court, and we are really seeing the impact of Trump’s nominees on the interpretation of the laws and Constitution.
