A photo from Vice President Kamala Harris’s Mexico trip shows that she decided to wear a mask while meeting with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, while Obrador opted not to wear one.
Both leaders have been vaccinated against the coronavirus, and the Centers for Disease Control has said it isn’t necessary for vaccinated people to wear masks indoors or outdoors.
Harris was in Mexico to discuss root causes of the U.S. illegal immigration crisis with Obrador and other leaders.
Some on the left have had a hard time letting go of masks, having identified them with virtue and anti-Trump sentiment, since former President Donald Trump didn’t wear them.
But it seems that Harris’s mask-wearing is just another in a series of blunders she made on the trip, which was criticized by people on both sides of the aisle.
