President Donald Trump just stunned the nation. He has issued a major reversal on the rumored shutdown — Americans across the country are hoping for brighter days ahead.
“Our country wasn’t built to be shut down,” said Trump during a press conference on Monday. “This is not a country that was built for this.” He also proclaimed, “America will again, and soon, be open for business.”
The mainstream media and liberal Democrats have accused Trump of giving false hope, however, their attack is another case of hypocrisy: They went after him just days ago for not being hopeful enough.
But Trump is doing what all presidents should — projecting strength and optimism during a difficult and uncertain time. He believes in America and knows that we will recover.
During the same press conference, in fact, Trump said that “we will be using data to recommend new protocols to allow local economies to cautiously resume their activity at the appropriate time.”
This doesn’t sound like anyone who is jumping the gun. Trump is taking it day by day with the best information at the time, while also showing leadership. Democrats want the pandemic to continue for political reasons.
