Last weekend in Chicago, 54 people were shot and nine were killed as sharp spikes in violence continue to occur there.
Six of the nine fatalities were killed in a four hour time period early on Saturday morning between 12:15 a.m. and 4:15 a.m.
Cver 3,100 people have been shot in the city between January 1, 2021, and September 7, 2021.
The victims who died from their wounds were mostly young males in their 20s and 30s, including a 27-year-old tow truck driver who died trying to provide service.
There is no sign of an end to the violence, which continues to get worse as time goes on.
