A previous estimate of shootings in Chicago over the weekend has been revised up from 21 to 28, but the number of fatalities remains at one.
A 24-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. For him to be the only fatality after a weekend of shootings in Chicago is unusual.
So far this year, 220 people have been killed in Chicago since January 1.
The high number of shootings does not make Mayor Lori Lightfoot or any of the other Democrats that have run Chicago for the past 50 or 60 years look good.
It’s almost like a change is needed to turn things around.
